Sar Pass trek located in Parvati Valley of Kull district in Himachal Pradesh is one such amazing snow trek that will give you the thrills. Sar in the local language means a lake and this is what makes the trek the most beautiful. You pass through a frozen lake across the path from Tila Lotni to Biskeri ridge. The trek will take you through the rich green grasslands and its vast meadows and forests covered with steep rocky terrain and snow patches. You start your trek from Kasol and then go through Grahan, Ratta, Pani, Nagaru and Barsheni. You see Rhododendron trees when passing through Grahan village which looks absolutely stunning. 

When you trek through Mung Thatch which is just 5 to 6 hrs would be a lot challenging but most enjoyable time in this Sar Pass trek. 

So challenge yourself with a trek to Sar Pass a little heaven in Parati valley and go serene by its nature. It is one of the favourite treks among adventure enthusiasts and and one of the most pleasant treks in Himachal Pradesh.

Itinerary:

Day 01- Kasol Arrival 

Day 02- Trek to Grahan Village (5 hours trek)

Day 03- Trek to Grahan to Mung Thach (6 hours trek)

Day 04- Trek to Mung Thach to Nagaru (4 hours trek)

Day 05- Trek to Nagaru to Biskeri Thatch via Sar Pass (7-8 hours trek)

Day 06- Trek to Biskeri Thatch to Barshaini to Kasol (3 hours drive) then Departure from Kasol and the End of tour

Best time to visit:

Sar pass trek can be visited during summer, monsoon and autumn making it the best time from May to October. 

Since Sar Pass trek is covered with snow so one has to be careful while visiting this trek. Hence the period of May to October makes the perfect time where the weather conditions are not so harsh and you can also see the snow blankets of snow at higher altitudes. And also the snow slides are so enjoyable and you can enjoy the bright and vibrant and beautiful flora and fauna. 

During May the snow is comparatively higher and it starts melting in the month of June leaving behind a fresh trail of lush greenery. The weather stays quite pleasant throughout but at the top one must be prepared with all the necessary precautions as the weather is not stable and one can experience rainfall, hailstorms or snowfall. 

Lastly Sar Pass trek is not done in winters as the weather and environment gets very snowy and hence is a lot riskier during winters.

Sar pass trek is a moderate level trek and it can be done even without any prior trekking experience. So all you need is strength and endurance and the spirit to overcome the steep ascent and descent and to cross the heavy blankets of snow in this trek.
